The grass isn’t greener and your cat is black.

Ah, what a beautiful time to be alive in the age of comparison. 🥂
Disagree?

Good. We’re on the same page.

So, I was wondering: Do you ever get that icky feeling that EVERYONE and their cat is better than you?

Better at traveling to moist tropical places and not looking like a wreck; better at eating with utensils and making money; better at taking pictures of their plates of broccoli? Heck, if they just tried for the fun of it, they’d probably be better at your job, too.

You get my point — the grass is always greener. If you've felt even some mild version of it, keep in mind: the more you compare, the more flaws you’ll find within your life since that's the only life you have under a microscope.

You’ve dissected every little detail of your existence (and your cat’s*), and of course, you’ve found flaws (*not that there’s anything wrong with your cat—black cats are simply less photogenic, please don’t sue me).

The fact is — EVERYTHING you put under a magnifying glass has flaws. Even a diamond.

What you can do is accept them and expect to find more down the line. Then learn to be gentle while looking through the lens. And know that someone out there finds your so-called flaws beautiful and your grass the perfect shade of green.

Why not you?

Leave a comment if you relate (or just want to brag about your cat)!

P.S. Mine is black, that’s how I know.
